Disk cutter wear prediction of TBM considering sliding and rolling friction

Abstract Considering the serious wear of disk cutters in tunnel project and low prediction accuracy existing methods, a new method for from an energy perspective was proposed. Based on contact mechanics, rock breaking process analyzed, combined action sliding rolling friction considered. Furthermore, model established, which realized predicted under different geological conditions throughout construction line. In addition, considering influence penetration model, values penetrations were obtained, their average taken as penetration. Finally, compared with actual value cutters. The results showed that relative error between data 12.8%. only is 18.3%. cutter 12.2%, proved feasibility model. Meanwhile, it more accurate than friction. research provided scientific theoretical basis design tool change scheme construction.
